PermissionsOnly sys admins can manage users

Users are all the collaborators who have access, or have been invited, to the platform.

From the Users tab, you can manage current users and invite new members to join.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Find the user management tab

You can access the Users tab from the settings, which are available at the bottom left of the screen.

You need to be a sys admin to access this tab.

Manage existing users

On the Users tab you will be able to see and manage existing users.

For each user, you have access to:

  • its first name (if it has been configured)
  • last name (if it has been configured)
  • email
  • role
  • account status

User roles

Roles allow to differentiate sys admins from classic users:

- sys admins have 'unlimited' access on the application; they can create, edit, delete and modify the accesses to any object

- users on the other hand will be limited by the policies attached to each object, which will give them read, write or no access to the object

Account statuses

The different account statuses are:

  • pending: invitation has not been accepted yet
    • you can cancel the invitation: user will be deleted
    • you can resend the invitation
  • active: user has accepted the invitation
    • you can deactivate the user: user will lose access to the platform
    • you can delete the user: user will be permanently deleted, beware of the consequences on objects that were owned by the user
  • deactivated: user does not have access to the platform anymore
    • you can reactivate the account: user will gain back his access
  • deleted: user or invitation has been deleted definitively

Invite new users

You can invite new users to join you. You will only need to specify their email and role.

If you are inviting a user (not a sys admin) to collaborate on existing projects, don't forget to add him to the right policies so he will have access to the needed resources when joining.
